So today's blog post is a 'Pinterest Monday' where I share with you a pin that I have found on pinterest that I found helpful or interesting. If you don't know what Pinterest is.. its a social website which you can save ideas and pictures to categories called 'Boards'.
So this is the pin that I have found whilst browsing and I thought I'd share it with you because its quite a clever way to build up patterning in your drawings or paintings and just if you're bored and want to doodle!

If you can't tell in the picture... firstly you draw some curved lines vertically. Then draw curved lines following the shape of the object horizontally and then chose a range of one colour such as the brown/orangy colour above then shade with the different colours using the darkest closest to the outer edges and the lightest in the middle.
This technique will help you practice shading in a gradient style and also to add a 3 dimensional look to your art!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think of it in the comments
