Pinterest Monday

Hello...

So today's blog post is a 'Pinterest Monday' where I share with you a pin that I have found on pinterest that I found helpful or interesting. If you don't know what Pinterest is.. its a social website which you can save ideas and pictures to categories called 'Boards'.

So this is the pin that I have found whilst browsing and I thought I'd share it with you because its quite a clever way to build up patterning in your drawings or paintings and just if you're bored and want to doodle!

Art 1. Optical Design

Link to pin: click here

If you can't tell in the picture... firstly you draw some curved lines vertically. Then draw curved lines following the shape of the object horizontally and then chose a range of one colour such as the brown/orangy colour above then shade with the different colours using the darkest closest to the outer edges and the lightest in the middle.

This technique will help you practice shading in a gradient style and also to add a 3 dimensional look to your art!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think of it in the comments

Hello.. i'm back again today to do another daily post... this time because its Sunday... I'm gonna share with you my favourite YouTube video of the week. So this week's video is by Rach0113 ... Its a sped up video of her creating a mixed media canvas that she named 'Journey'. I am subscribed and love watching her videos on YouTube... she makes videos showing the process of how she makes her mixed media art.

I love this piece of art and the techniques that she uses! She does a lot of building up of layers which has definately inspired me when I'm doing art.

Be sure to check out her video and YouTube! I'm sure she'll  inspire many of you too!

Kawaii Art - Do you like it?

Hey everyone,

So I'm back again to come to you with another type of art to talk about - Kawaii Art

So you're probably wondering what the hell is Kawaii art????? Well... Kawaii means  "lovable", "cute", or "adorable" in japanese and Kawaii art is just cuteness shown through art etc.

Some examples:

I find that a lot of Kawaii art is portrayed through cute food or anime girls. Do you like this type of art?

Have you ever heard of it... let me know with a comment :D

Biro Drawings

Hello again,

So I was scrolling through deviantART the other day and notice an amazing piece of artwork done totally by using biros. I couldn't believe the detail that was involved in the drawings and couldn't ever imagine being able to do it! So I thought I'd share some pieces of Biro artwork with you and ask for your opinion as to weather you like them and have ever heard of them or even draw them yourself.

This first one below is a small one and its by James Mylne.

Who is James Mylne?

James Mylne is a 32 year old art from London. He specialises in fine art and illustration drawn in ballpoint pen and mixed-media.

Its amazing how much detail and depth one media can be used to create!

This next one is of Albert Einstein by 'Flotter' on deviantArt: the link to their page if you want to see more.. click here!

biro drawing 2

I've only just come across this artist on deviantART and i'm not sure if they still post on their but check them out for some inspiration.

The one below is by Juan Francisco Casas.

Who is he?

Juan is a Spanish artist and poet. He specialises in painting, drawing and photography and is well known for his detailed Biro drawings! I only like a few of his biro drawings because a lot of the rest are of nude people, but some people are interested in that type of art.
